American Football End of Season Awards

American football end of season awards have to cover a big squad. A British adult contact team can carry forty or more players across offence, defence and special teams, and many clubs run flag football and junior sides too. Our glass awards are UV-printed in full colour with your team logo and up to four lines of text, so the MVP, the unit awards and the rookie of the year all match.

Seasons in British American football

Adult contact football in Britain is a summer game, broadly April to August, with play-offs and finals at the end. University teams play through the academic year, roughly October to March. Junior, youth and flag competitions each have their own calendars.

So the season line depends on who you are. A club team usually puts the year on its own, while university squads tend to use the split format, "2025/26". Awards nights for club teams usually fall in September or October, after the finals.

The awards American football teams give

The sport borrows its award culture from the American game. Expect MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Special Teams Player of the Year, plus Rookie of the Year for first-season players, who in Britain are often new to the sport entirely. Many teams add Lineman of the Year, because linemen on both sides of the ball rarely appear in the stats.

Coaches usually choose the unit awards with input from position coaches, while MVP and an Iron Man award for players who never missed a session are often voted. A Coach's Award or Committee Award can recognise whoever kept the club running off the field.

Ordering for a large roster

Count your awards by unit. Three unit awards, MVP, Rookie, Lineman, Players' Player and a Coach's Award comes to eight, and teams with flag or junior sides often double that. Small awards are £8.99 and Large are £13.99, mixed as you like, with a minimum order of five.

Some teams give every retiring veteran or long-serving player a Small award as well. If you do that, paste the list of names in bulk rather than typing each one. Flat delivery of £10.00 covers the whole order.

Team logos and award wording

Team logos in British American football tend to follow the US style: an animal or warrior mascot with heavy outlines, often with the team name in a collegiate or block typeface. They print well in full colour, but if the combined logo is very wide, the mascot alone usually sits better at the top of the award, with the team name on a text line. White outlines on transparent artwork will need the dark backing panel.

Long titles can be shortened the American way: OFFENSIVE MVP or DEFENSIVE MVP are understood by every player. Add a position or shirt number after the name if that is how the squad knows each other.

Questions

Should the unit awards be Large or Small?

Many teams make MVP the only Large award so it stands out, with unit awards in Small. Others make all the headline awards Large. Sizes can be mixed in a single order, so it is really about how you want the presentation table to look.

Can flag football and contact teams share one order?

Yes. Each award has its own text, so you can label one set Contact and another Flag, or by age group, using the same logo throughout or a different one for each team, all in one order.

What should a university team put for the season?

University seasons cross two years, so the split format, such as 2025/26, is clearest. Some university teams also add their league or conference name on the team line if they reached the play-offs or a final.

How far ahead should we order?

Order once the votes and coaches' picks are in, allowing for production and post before your awards night. Made in Cornwall and delivered within 7 days Delivery is a flat £10.00 whatever the quantity.
