Bowls End of Season Awards

Bowls end of season awards follow the rhythm of the outdoor flat-green season, which runs from around April to September. Club competitions build through the summer to a finals day in late August or September, and the prizes are usually handed out at an autumn presentation dinner once the green has closed. Our printed glass blocks carry your club badge in full colour with up to four lines of text.

The bowls club calendar

Most clubs open the green in April and play their internal competitions alongside league and county fixtures through the summer. Early rounds are often played to a deadline, with the later rounds and finals packed into one or two finals days near the end of the season.

The presentation usually follows in October or November, at the clubhouse or a local hotel, often alongside the closing of the green or the AGM. Indoor clubs run the other way, through the winter, so their presentation tends to fall in spring.

What a bowls club presents

The list is long compared with most sports. A typical club has men's and ladies' singles championships, pairs, triples and fours, two-wood singles, handicap singles, mixed pairs, and often a novice or championship for players in their first few seasons. Many clubs also have veterans' events, a most improved bowler award and a clubperson or service award.

Winners of team events each need their own award, so a fours final alone means four winners plus four runners-up. That is why bowls orders are often larger than people expect, and why the option to mix small and large blocks in one order matters.

Bowls club badges

Bowls club badges are often traditional, with a shield or roundel, crossed woods or a jack, the founding date, and fine lettering around the edge. Upload the largest, clearest version of the badge you can find, ideally a transparent PNG. The badge prints in full colour, so the club colours come through as they appear on your blazers and shirts.

If the badge is white on a transparent background, we add a dark backing panel so it still shows on the glass. A small square block suits a compact roundel, while a tall shield badge often sits better on the large portrait block.

Wording and planning

Outdoor bowls fits within one summer, so put just the year on line 4. Line 1 is the competition, such as "MEN'S SINGLES CHAMPION" or "LADIES' PAIRS WINNERS", line 2 can carry the club name, and line 3 the winner or winners.

Ask the competition secretary for the full list of finals and the names of every winner and runner-up as soon as finals day is over. Paste the names in using the bulk option, check them against the draw sheet, and order with plenty of time before the dinner.

Questions

Can each member of a winning rink have their own award?

Yes. Each award in an order can carry a different name, so pairs, triples and fours winners can each have a personal award with the same title. Use "same crest, new name" to add them quickly.

Do indoor bowls clubs use the same wording?

Indoor clubs often run across the winter, so a split season such as "2025/26" usually suits them better than a single year. Every line is free text, so use whatever your club prefers.

Can we mix small and large blocks?

Yes. Many clubs choose large blocks for the singles champions and small blocks for team event winners and runners-up. The minimum is 5 awards in any mix of sizes and designs.

How much is delivery for a large club order?

Delivery is a flat £10.00 per order, whatever the quantity, so it makes sense to place every competition, from the singles to the fours and the novice event, in one order. Made in Cornwall and delivered within 7 days
