Golf End of Season Awards

Golf end of season awards are usually handed out at the club's annual dinner or prize-giving, once the main competition season finishes in late summer or early autumn. Unlike team sports, a golf club's honours list is built around competitions: the club championship, the captain's prize, the order of merit and a string of section and trophy events. Our printed glass blocks give each winner a keepsake with your club crest in full colour.

How the golf awards year runs

At most UK clubs the competition calendar runs from spring into September, with the big events spread through the summer. Many trophies are perpetual, so winners hold the silverware for a year and see their name added to the honours board. What they rarely get is something to keep.

That is where a personal award fits. Clubs present the perpetual trophy for the photograph, then hand the winner a glass block to take home. Prize-giving is often at the annual dinner, though some clubs present on the day of each competition and hold a smaller ceremony at the AGM.

Which competitions to cover

A typical list includes the club champion (scratch), the handicap champion, the captain's prize, the president's or lady captain's prize, the order of merit, the most improved handicap, and senior and junior champions. Many clubs add the winners of the club's knockout matchplay, foursomes and mixed events.

Men's, ladies', seniors' and juniors' sections often run separate calendars and separate presentations. Speak to each section secretary early so one combined order covers everyone, or place one order per section if the events fall on different dates.

Golf club crests and printing detail

Golf club badges are often older and detailed, with fine lettering, a founding motto and sometimes a coat of arms or a local landmark. Upload the largest, cleanest version you have, ideally a transparent PNG from whoever looks after the club website or printed scorecards. The crest prints in full colour, in the club's own colours.

If the badge is white on a transparent background, we add a dark backing panel so the detail stays visible on the glass.

Some clubs also have a simplified version of the badge for shirts and bag tags. If the full crest has very small lettering, that simpler version can read better on the smaller square block, while the full badge suits the large portrait block.

Wording for golf awards

Golf runs within a single summer, so most clubs put just the year on line 4 rather than a split season. Use line 1 for the competition name, line 2 for the club or section ("Ladies' Section"), line 3 for the winner and line 4 for the year.

Many golf trophies carry a donor's name, such as "The Treloar Cup". If the competition is better known by that name, use it on line 1 and put the format, "Stableford" or "Medal", on line 2. Scores can go on line 3 alongside the name if you want them recorded.

Questions

Can we cover men's, ladies' and juniors' sections in one order?

Yes. Sizes and wording can be mixed freely, so each section's competitions can have their own title, section name and winner. Upload the crest once and use "same crest, new name" for the rest.

Should the award say the year or the season?

Golf competitions sit within one calendar year, so most clubs put just the year on line 4. A winter league that runs across the new year can use a split season, such as "2025/26".

Can these sit alongside our perpetual trophies?

Yes. Most clubs use a glass block as the winner's keepsake while the perpetual trophy stays at the club. That way the winner still has something to keep after the trophy goes back in the cabinet.

What does a full prize-giving order cost?

Small square blocks are £8.99 each and large portrait blocks £13.99 each, with flat £10.00 delivery per order. The minimum order is 5 awards in any mix.
