Cheerleading End of Season Awards

Cheerleading end of season awards usually celebrate a whole programme rather than one team. All-star gyms, school squads and university teams often run several teams across age groups and levels, each with their own flyers, bases and tumblers. Our glass awards are UV-printed in full colour, so gym logos with gradients, stars and bows come out in their real colours, with up to four lines of text below.

When the cheer season wraps up

All-star teams in the UK generally form and start training around September, compete through the winter and spring, and finish after the last major competition in late spring or early summer. Many gyms close the season with a showcase or end-of-season banquet in June or July, before teams are re-formed for the new season.

University teams follow the academic year and finish after their spring competitions. For both, a split season such as "2025/26" is the clearest bottom line.

Awards cheer gyms give

Cheer awards often recognise roles within the stunt group: Flyer of the Year, Base of the Year and Back Spot of the Year, alongside Tumbler of the Year and a Jumps award. Team-level awards include Athlete of the Year, Most Improved, Spirit Award and Coaches' Award, with Team of the Year or a Programme MVP for the gym as a whole.

Coaches usually decide the role-based awards. Spirit awards are often voted by teammates, and some gyms give a Parent or Volunteer of the Year, since cheer relies heavily on parents for travel, fundraising and long competition days.

Teams, ages and levels

UK all-star teams are grouped by age divisions such as Tiny, Mini, Youth, Junior, Senior and Open, and by level. Line 2 is the place for the team name and division, for example "Sapphires, Youth L2". Keep it short; the team name usually means more to the athletes than the division.

A gym with six teams giving five awards each needs thirty. Use Small awards at £8.99 for team awards and Large at £13.99 for programme-wide awards. The minimum order is five, sizes mix freely and you can paste a list of names to fill a whole team at once.

Getting cheer logos to print well

Cheer logos are often more decorative than in other sports: script lettering, gradients, glitter effects, stars and bows. Full colour UV printing handles gradients and multiple colours, though a glitter texture in the artwork prints as a flat pattern rather than sparkle. A clean version of the logo without the glitter effect often reads better.

If the logo is white or pale pink on a transparent background, choose the dark backing panel so it shows against the glass. Upload the largest file you have, since script lettering loses detail when the image is small.

Questions

Can each team have its own name on the awards?

Yes. Every award has its own text, so you can set the team and division line separately for each team in one order, using the gym logo at the top throughout, or a team logo where you have one.

Our logo has a glitter effect. Will that show?

The print shows the colours and shapes of the image you upload, not a physical sparkle. Glitter textures can look busy once printed, so many gyms upload a flat colour version of the logo, which prints sharper on glass.

How should we word a flyer, base or back spot award?

Keep line 1 to the role, such as FLYER OF THE YEAR, then put the team on line 2 and the athlete on line 3. If a whole stunt group is being recognised, the names can share lines 3 and 4.

When should we order for a summer banquet?

Order once coaches have made their choices, leaving time for production and post. Made in Cornwall and delivered within 7 days One flat £10.00 charge covers the whole programme's awards in a single order.
