Tennis End of Season Awards

Tennis end of season awards at most UK clubs are built around one big day: club championships finals day, or the annual dinner that follows it. This page covers the whole occasion, from the events you will need awards for to the wording that fits a tennis club. Our awards are clear, green-tinted glass blocks, UV-printed in full colour with your club badge and up to four lines of text, and made in Cornwall.

When a tennis club's year comes to a close

Tennis does not stop neatly. Summer league matches usually run from April or May into early September, while many clubs also field teams in a winter league that carries on through to spring. The natural end point is the club championships, with finals day typically held in late August or September.

Some clubs present on finals day itself, straight after the last match, with the courts still full. Others save everything for the annual dinner in the autumn or for the AGM. If you present twice, once for the championships and once for league teams, it is worth planning both orders together.

The awards a tennis club hands out

The core list follows the championship events: men's and ladies' singles, men's and ladies' doubles and mixed doubles, often with veterans' events for over-35s or over-45s. Many clubs run a plate competition for first-round losers, which gives more members something to play for.

Beyond the championships you will usually find a junior section with its own events by age group, awards for each league team, a most improved award chosen by the coach, and a member of the year for whoever ran the bar, rolled the courts or organised the social tennis.

Getting the wording right for tennis

Event names are long, so let line 1 carry the event and keep the rest short. LADIES' DOUBLES CHAMPION, then the club name, then one player's name, then the season. Doubles partners each deserve their own award, and with our designer that simply means two names on the same design.

Summer championships suit a single year on the last line. Winter league awards span two calendar years, so a season like 2025/26 reads better there. Runners-up can have their own version: swap CHAMPION for RUNNER-UP and keep everything else the same.

Badges, sizes and planning the order

Older lawn tennis clubs often have detailed badges with crossed rackets, a ball and fine lettering around the edge. Upload the largest image you have so the small text stays crisp. If your badge is white on a transparent background, we offer a dark backing panel so it still shows clearly on the glass.

A common approach is Large awards at £13.99 each for the singles champions and Small awards at £8.99 each for doubles pairs, runners-up and plate winners. Sizes and names mix freely in one order, the minimum is 5 awards, and delivery is a flat £10.00 however many you need.

Questions

How many awards does a typical club championships finals day need?

Count the events, then double for doubles. Five events with a winner and runner-up each, plus pairs in the three doubles events, comes to around sixteen awards. Add any plate and veterans' events, and remember junior events if they share the same day.

Do doubles partners get one award each or share one?

Most clubs give one each, as both players will want something to keep. Design the award once with the first partner's name, then use the same crest, new name option to add the second partner without uploading the badge again.

Can we order before the finals are played?

Many clubs wait until finals day is over so the names are known, then present at the annual dinner. If you want awards on the day itself, you could leave the recipient line blank and print just the event, club and year.

How long will delivery take?

Made in Cornwall and delivered within 7 days Delivery is a flat £10.00 per order, so it makes sense to put championship and league team awards into one order once you have the names.
