Water polo end of season awards are often handed out alongside a swimming club's own presentations. Many UK water polo teams are a section of a larger swimming club, sharing pool time, a committee and a crest, with junior squads coming through from swimming. Water polo's season
Water polo in Britain runs on a mix of national leagues, regional leagues and age-group championships, and the calendar varies more than in most sports. Many leagues run through the autumn and winter, with junior championships and tournaments spread across the year. Clubs usually hold awards when their main league finishes, often in late spring or early summer.
If the club presentation covers swimming and polo together, it is usually timed to the swimming year. Check which season your polo awards cover before choosing between "2025/26" and a single year.
Awards for a water polo section
The usual list is Player of the Season, Players' Player, Top Goalscorer, Goalkeeper of the Season, Most Improved and Coach's Award. Defensive work in water polo is hard to see from the poolside, so some coaches add a Best Defender award for the player who makes steals and blocks shots.
Junior squads often play mixed at younger ages, then split into boys' and girls' teams. Awards such as Junior Player of the Year or Best Newcomer recognise swimmers who have moved across from the swimming squads.
Ordering with the swimming club
If the swimming club is ordering its own awards, the polo section can join the same order. Sizes and designs mix freely, so swimming awards and polo awards can sit side by side using the same crest, with one flat £10.00 delivery charge.
A polo section with a senior team and two junior squads might need fifteen to eighteen awards. Use Large at £13.99 for the club's top polo honours and Small at £8.99 for squad awards. The minimum is five awards in total.
Swimming club crests and wording
Swimming club crests often feature waves, a swimmer, a local landmark or a traditional shield with the club's founding name. Many have fine detail and plenty of blue, which prints well in full colour. If the crest is white on transparent, choose the dark backing panel so it shows on the glass.
Put Water Polo on the team line so the award is clearly for polo, for example "Water Polo U14" or "Water Polo Men", then the player and the season. A cap number can follow a name if that is how your squad identifies players.

Can water polo and swimming awards go in one order?
Yes. Each award has its own text and size, so a club can order swimming and water polo awards together using the same crest. It all comes under one flat delivery charge, and the minimum of five applies to the whole order.
Should the goalkeeper have a separate award?
In most sections, yes. The goalkeeper is the only player allowed to play the ball with two hands, and the role is so different that comparing a keeper with outfield players rarely makes sense when picking one winner.
What season should we put on the award?
Use whichever period your polo league or competition covered. Winter leagues usually suit a split season such as 2025/26, while a summer league or a single tournament reads better with just the year.
