Badminton End of Season Awards

Badminton end of season awards usually centre on the club championships, where a single evening or weekend decides five or more titles across singles, doubles and mixed. That means plenty of winners, many of them in pairs. Our printed glass awards carry your club logo in full colour with up to four lines of text, and you can give each partner their own award with both names on it.

The badminton club calendar

Most badminton clubs follow a winter season. County and local league matches run from September or October through to March or April, played as team fixtures in men's, ladies' and mixed doubles. Club nights carry on through the year, but the competitive season winds down in spring.

Club championships are usually held towards the end of the league season, and the results are presented at an end of season social or the annual general meeting in April, May or June. Junior sections often hold their own championships on a weekend morning.

Titles a badminton club usually awards

The classic set of club championship titles is men's singles, ladies' singles, men's doubles, ladies' doubles and mixed doubles. Many clubs add a handicap doubles event, where partners are drawn to mix stronger and newer players, and a plate for first-round losers.

Beyond the championships, popular awards include league player of the year for the most consistent team performer, most improved player and a club person of the year for whoever books the courts and orders the shuttles. Junior sections often present age group champions from under-11s to under-19s.

Wording for doubles winners

Doubles titles raise a practical question: one award with both names, or one each. Most clubs give each player their own award, with the title on line one, the club name on line two, both names on line three, such as S. PATEL AND R. HUGHES, and the season on line four. Badminton is a winter sport, so 2025/26 style season text is usual.

If both names are long, use initials for first names, and check the live on-screen mock-up to make sure the line fits comfortably.

Logos and ordering for a badminton club

Badminton club logos are often simple, with a shuttlecock, crossed rackets or the club's initials, and some clubs have no logo at all. Text-only awards work well, or upload whatever you have and we print it in full colour. White logos can sit on a dark backing panel.

A full set of championship awards for five events, with winners and runners-up, comes to around twenty awards. Small awards suit the doubles pairs and runners-up, with large awards for the singles champions or club person of the year. Mix them freely, and add each new name without uploading the crest again.

Good to know

Questions

Should doubles partners get one award or two?

Most clubs give one each, so both players have something to keep. Use the same design for both and put both names on the name line. That way the pair have matching awards, and each still counts towards your order of 5 or more.

Can we include runners-up awards for each event?

Yes. Use RUNNER-UP or a title such as MIXED DOUBLES RUNNER-UP on line one. Many clubs give runners-up the small size and winners the large size, and both sizes can be mixed in one order.

We don't have a club logo. Can we still order?

Yes. Every line is optional, including the crest, so a text-only award with the title, club name, player names and season looks clean and works well on the glass.

How do we fit HANDICAP DOUBLES CHAMPION on one line?

Long titles fit best split across two lines, for example HANDICAP DOUBLES on line one and CHAMPION on line two. The live on-screen mock-up shows straight away how each version will look on the award.
