Hockey End of Season Awards
Hockey end of season awards usually land in April or May, once league fixtures finish and the club turns its attention to the annual dinner or presentation evening. With several men's, women's, mixed and junior sides to cover, the awards list grows quickly. Our printed glass blocks carry your club crest in full colour with up to four lines of text, so one order can cover the whole club.

When hockey clubs hold their awards night
Most UK club hockey runs from September to April, with league seasons organised regionally and many clubs playing indoor or festival hockey over the winter break. By late March the tables are settling, so April or early May is the natural window for a presentation evening, often combined with the club AGM or an end-of-season social.
Junior sections sometimes hold a separate afternoon presentation at the club, with parents and coaches, while the senior awards go to an evening do. It is worth deciding early whether you want one order for both or two smaller orders timed for each event.
The awards a typical hockey club hands out
Each team usually has its own set: players' player, top scorer, most improved and a captain's or coach's award. Club-wide honours then sit on top, such as clubperson of the year, umpire of the year, goalkeeper of the season and a young player award for someone stepping up from the juniors into senior hockey.
A club running four senior sides and a junior section can easily need 20 to 30 awards. A common approach is small blocks for the team awards and large blocks for the handful of club-wide honours, which helps the headline prizes stand out on the night.

Getting the wording right for hockey teams
Hockey teams are usually named by number and section, so make the team part of the text: "Ladies' 2nd XI", "Men's 4s" or "U14 Boys". A simple layout is award title on line 1, team on line 2, player name on line 3 and season on line 4, for example "2025/26", since the hockey season spans two calendar years.
If your club has both a full name and a short name, use the short one on the award and let the crest do the rest. Every line is optional, so a crest with just a name and season can work well for long-serving members.
Hockey crests and how they print
Hockey club badges range from traditional shields with crossed sticks to modern roundels and wordmarks. The crest prints in your club's own colours, so upload the largest, sharpest file you have, ideally a transparent PNG. If your crest is white on a transparent background, we add a dark backing panel so it still shows clearly on the glass.
Once the crest is uploaded for the first award, the "same crest, new name" option lets you add every other team's awards without uploading it again. You can also paste a full list of names in one go, which saves time when the committee hands you a spreadsheet.

Questions
Can we mix awards for different hockey teams in one order?
Yes. Sizes and wording can be mixed freely across a single order, so the 1st XI, 3rd XI and U12 Girls can all have their own titles and names. The minimum is 5 awards in total, not 5 of each design.
Should we put the season or the year on hockey awards?
Because hockey runs from autumn to spring, most clubs use the split season, written as "2025/26" or "Season 2025/26". It keeps the award clear years later when it sits on a shelf next to others.
How much is delivery for a whole club order?
Delivery is a flat £10.00 per order, whatever the quantity, so it makes sense to put every team's awards into one order rather than several. Made in Cornwall and delivered within 7 days
Our crest is white. Will it show on clear glass?
A white crest on a transparent background can disappear on clear glass, so we add a dark backing panel behind it. The full-colour print then shows the crest as it appears on your kit and website.
