Dance End of Season Awards

Dance end of season awards are usually given by a dance school rather than a club, and they tend to be handed out on stage at the end of the summer show or at a separate awards afternoon. With classes in ballet, tap, modern, contemporary and street, and pupils from pre-school to adults, there are a lot of people to recognise. Our printed glass awards carry your school logo in full colour with up to four lines of text.

The dance school year

Most dance schools follow the academic year, starting in September and building towards graded exams and a show in June or July. The show is often the natural moment for awards, with presentations after the final number while families are still in their seats. Some schools hold a smaller awards afternoon in the studio instead, which gives each pupil a little more time in the spotlight.

If you present at the show, remember that the week before is filled with rehearsals and costume fittings. Ordering your awards well before the dress rehearsal saves a last-minute rush.

Awards dance teachers give

The most common titles are dancer of the year, most improved dancer, principal's award and best newcomer. Many schools add an award for each style, such as ballet dancer of the year or tap award, and a commitment award for pupils who never miss a class.

Schools with a competition team often recognise performance results separately, while exam achievement awards suit pupils who have gained a distinction or passed a higher grade. An award for a student teacher or class helper is a good way to thank older pupils. Adult classes, which often have a loyal group of regulars, can be included with a title such as ADULT TAP AWARD.

Dance school logos

Dance logos often use flowing script lettering, a dancer silhouette, a ballet shoe or a star, frequently in black, pink, gold or purple. Script fonts and wide wordmarks print well across the top of the glass, but very thin strokes need a large original file. Many schools have a white logo for use on dark backgrounds, so if that is all you have, we can add a dark backing panel behind it.

Wording for classes and styles

Use line one for the award title, line two for the school name, line three for the pupil and line four for the class and year, for example GRADE 3 BALLET or SENIOR STREET 2025/26. Keeping the class line short helps younger pupils' names, which are often long, fit comfortably.

Most schools choose large awards for the principal's award and dancer of the year, and small awards for each class. You can mix them freely, add names without uploading the logo again, or paste each class register using the bulk option. Check every name in the live on-screen mock-up before ordering.

Questions

Can we order a different award title for each dance style?

Yes. Keep the same logo and change the title and class lines for each award, so ballet, tap, modern and street can all have their own wording. All of them can go in a single order, as long as there are at least 5 awards.

How far ahead of the summer show should we order?

Made in Cornwall and delivered within 7 days We suggest ordering before show rehearsals begin, so you have time to check names and hand them to whoever is organising the presentation backstage.

Can we give an award to every pupil in a class?

Yes. Paste the class list using the bulk option and each award prints with the pupil's own name under the same title and logo. Small awards at £8.99 each are a popular choice for this.

Our logo uses a thin script font. Will it print well?

Thin script prints best from a large file, ideally a transparent PNG. Upload the biggest version you have and look at it in the live on-screen mock-up. If the logo is white, we can add a dark backing panel.
