Golf Club Champion Award
A golf club champion award goes to the best player at the club over the championship, and at most clubs that title is decided off scratch, with no handicap allowance. It is usually the most prestigious individual honour on the calendar. The winner's name goes on the honours board in the clubhouse, and a glass award with the club crest gives them something to keep at home.

Golf end of season awards: how the championship is decided
Formats vary between clubs. Many play 36 holes of strokeplay over a weekend, sometimes with a qualifying round and a cut before the final 18 or 36. Others run a matchplay knockout through the summer, finishing with a final between the last two players.
Most clubs hold separate men's and ladies' championships, and many add a handicap or net champion to recognise the best performance after allowances. Because the scratch title tends to go to the same low-handicap golfers, the net championship gives everyone else a realistic target.
Scratch, net and runner-up
A complete championship order often includes the scratch champion, the net champion, and the runners-up in each. Some clubs also recognise the leading qualifier. That adds up quickly, which suits the minimum order of 5 awards.
A common split is large blocks for the two champions and small blocks for runners-up and the net prize. Every award in the order can be a different size with different wording.

What to put on a club champion award
Line 1: "CLUB CHAMPION", or "LADIES' CLUB CHAMPION" if the sections run separately. Line 2: the club name, unless it is already part of the crest. Line 3: the winner. Line 4: the year.
Some champions like their score recorded. For a 36-hole strokeplay event, a line such as "Gross 148" works neatly beneath the name. For a matchplay final, you might use the margin, "Won 3 and 2". Check every figure with the competition secretary before ordering.
Presenting it
Some clubs present the champion's award on the 18th green straight after the final, others at the annual dinner with the rest of the season's prizes. If you present on the day, place the order before the championship weekend with the name line left for later, or order once the result is in and present the keepsake at the dinner.
A club champion often wins more than once, and a set of matching blocks from different years makes a tidy row on a shelf.

Sections with their own champions
Beyond the men's and ladies' titles, many clubs also crown a seniors' champion, a junior champion and sometimes an intermediate champion for players in their twenties. If those are presented on the same night, it is simplest to set them all up in the same order, using "same crest, new name" and changing line 1 for each section. Keep the wording consistent across them so the set looks like it belongs together.

Questions
Is the club champion decided off scratch?
At most clubs, yes. The club championship is normally a gross competition with no handicap allowance. Many clubs run a separate net or handicap championship alongside it, which can have its own award.
Can we add the winning score?
Yes. Any of the four text lines can carry a score or match result, for example "Gross 148" or "Won 2 and 1". The text prints exactly as typed, so double-check figures first.
Does the crest keep its fine detail?
The crest prints in full colour from the file you upload, so detail depends on the quality of that file. Use the largest version you have, ideally a transparent PNG from your club's designer or website.
How soon will the award arrive?
Made in Cornwall and delivered within 7 days If the result is only known on the day, many clubs present the trophy on the green and the personal keepsake at the annual dinner.
