Tournament Awards for Club Events and Cups

Tournament awards have one problem that season awards do not: you rarely know who has won until the final whistle. Whether your club is hosting a junior football festival, a rugby sevens day, a cricket sixes, a netball tournament or an open bowls competition, the awards have to be ordered in advance. This page explains how to word them so they work whoever wins, and how many to order.

Word it without the winner's name

Every line on the award is optional, so you can leave the name off and still have a finished award. A common layout is the tournament name on line one, the category on line two, such as U11 CUP WINNERS or PLATE RUNNERS-UP, and the club or venue on line three, with line four left free or used for the edition, such as 10TH ANNUAL. You can order these alongside your club's end of season awards, with different names and titles in the same basket.

Your club crest prints at the top in full colour, or you can upload a tournament logo instead if the event has its own. Using the same design each time means the awards become part of the tournament's identity.

Cups, plates and categories

Larger tournaments often split teams into cup, plate and bowl competitions after the group stage, so every team plays knockout matches. Each competition needs its own winners' award, and many hosts add runners-up too. Multiply that by the number of age groups and the list grows quickly, so draw it up as a grid before ordering.

Individual prizes add a personal touch: player of the tournament, top goalscorer or top try scorer, and best goalkeeper. These can also be left without names and presented on the day.

Club competitions with known winners

Internal cup competitions are easier. Golf club championships, bowls club singles and pairs finals, and squash or tennis club knockouts usually finish before the presentation evening, so the winner's name can go on line three. Golf and bowls clubs often keep an old perpetual trophy at the club and give the winner something to take home, which is where a glass award fits well.

For these, a typical layout is the competition name on line one, such as MEN'S CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP or LADIES' PAIRS, the club name on line two, the winner's name or names on line three and the year or season on line four. Pairs and fours events in bowls need every player's name, so order one award per player rather than squeezing four names onto one.

Ordering for a tournament

Count every award you need, then decide sizes. A Large block at £13.99 for each competition winner and small blocks at £8.99 for runners-up and individual prizes is a common split. The minimum order is 5, which most tournaments pass easily.

Order once entries close and the categories are fixed, as that is usually several weeks before the day and gives you a comfortable margin.

Questions

Can we order tournament awards without the winning team's name?

Yes. Every line is optional, so you can print the tournament name, category and edition and leave the team or player name off. The award still looks complete, and you can present it the moment the final ends.

Can we use our tournament logo instead of the club crest?

Yes. Upload whichever logo you want at the top, as a PNG or JPG. Wide wordmark logos and tournament badges both work. If the logo is white on a transparent background, we can add a dark backing panel behind it.

Should we order an award for every player in the winning team?

That depends on your budget. Some hosts give one Large award to each winning team. Others order a small award per player for the younger age groups, which children tend to treasure more than a shared trophy they hand back.

How long do tournament awards take to arrive?

Made in Cornwall and delivered within 7 days Tournament categories are normally fixed once entries close, so that is a good point to order. Delivery is a flat £10.00 however many awards the order includes.
