Race awards for parkrun, 10k, half marathon and triathlon events each work a little differently, because results are decided in different ways and by different people. A race director handing out category prizes minutes after the last finisher has other needs from a running club marking members' achievements at its annual dinner. Our printed glass awards suit both, with the race or club logo in full colour and wording you set for each category.

Prizes at road races and triathlons
Most UK road races give prizes to the first three men and women overall, then to the first in each age category. Veteran categories usually start at 35 or 40 and run in five or ten-year bands, written as V40 and V50 or M45 and F45 depending on the race. Triathlons tend to use five-year age groups and add relay team prizes. Club race prizes can sit alongside end of season awards for league performances and progress, with wording chosen for each achievement.
Results come from the timing team on the day, so race directors almost always order category awards without names. Line 1 can be the place, such as 1ST FEMALE, line 2 the category, line 3 the race name and line 4 the year. Every award is then ready for the presentation as soon as results are confirmed.
Counting categories before you order
Write out your full prize list from the race entry terms before ordering, because the numbers add up quickly. The top three men and women overall plus the first man and woman in five veteran categories already comes to 16. Use large blocks for the overall winners and small blocks for categories, mixing sizes freely in one order.
Decide in advance what happens when an overall winner also tops their age category. Most races give one prize only and pass the category award down. Delivery is a flat £10.00, so adding a course record award or a first local finisher prize costs nothing more in postage.
parkrun milestones and club awards
parkrun itself does not give prizes. It is a free, timed weekly run, and its milestone clubs, such as 50 and 100 runs, are marked by parkrun in its own way. Where glass awards fit is with running and triathlon clubs recognising their own members: a club award for reaching a 100th parkrun, best parkrun performance of the year, and a volunteer award for the member who has marshalled or walked as tail more than anyone.
Club championships often run as a series across chosen races, scored on points or age grading. Those awards can carry names because the table is final by the end of the season, and the bulk option lets you paste winners straight from your results spreadsheet.
Race logos and club wordmarks
Race logos are usually designed for medals and T-shirts: bold shapes, a route outline or a local landmark, often with the race name built in. They print well. If the race name is already part of the logo, use line 3 for the distance instead of repeating it.
Running and triathlon clubs often use wide wordmark logos rather than shields. Upload the largest file you have and check its balance with the text on the photo of the award as you type. White logos on a transparent background need the dark backing panel to show on glass.

Questions
Can we order race prizes before we know the results?
Yes, and most race directors do. Print the place, category, race name and year, and leave the name line out. The awards can then be handed over at the presentation as soon as the timing results are confirmed.
Does parkrun give out awards?
No. parkrun is a free weekly timed run and does not award prizes. Running clubs often mark members' parkrun milestones, such as a 100th run, or present a club parkrun trophy at their annual dinner, which is where personalised awards come in.
How should we write veteran categories on the award?
Use whatever your race entry terms say, so the awards match the published results. Common formats are V40 and V50, or M40 and F40 to show the category and sex together. Give it a line of its own so it is easy to read.
How long does delivery take?
