Glass awards
Charity Tournament Awards
Charity tournament awards have a slightly different job from club trophies. The people organising a fundraising football tournament, netball festival or fun run are often volunteers, the budget is the charity's money, and the awards need to thank people as much as reward winners. Our glass blocks can carry the charity's logo or an event logo in full colour, with wording that names the cause, so each award also reminds people what the day was for.

Awards that suit a fundraising day
A charity tournament still needs winners and runners-up, but the awards people remember are often the ones that recognise effort off the pitch: top fundraising team, top individual fundraiser, best fancy dress, and a spirit of the tournament award for the side that brought the most supporters. A club can order its fundraising prizes alongside its end of season awards, keeping the wording specific to each occasion.
At a fun run there is rarely a reason to rank by time. Organisers more often give awards for the first finisher in fancy dress, the biggest team entry, the top fundraiser and the youngest finisher. A thank-you award for the lead volunteer or the venue that hosted the day is a good use of the last of your five.
Keeping costs clear for the committee
Charities need to account for every pound, so the fixed pricing helps: £8.99 for a small award, £13.99 for a large one, and £10.00 delivery for the whole order. There are no tiers to work through, so you can put an exact figure in the event budget before entries open.
If a local business is sponsoring the day, it is worth asking whether they will cover the trophies. Their name can go on a text line, such as Sponsored by followed by the business name, while the charity logo stays at the top.

Using the charity's logo properly
Most charities have brand guidelines, and larger ones ask that their logo is only used with permission and in set colours. Check with your contact at the charity before ordering and ask them for the logo file. A transparent PNG at full size gives the best result, and because we print in full colour the logo appears in the charity's own colours.
If the logo is only supplied in white, choose the dark backing panel so it stands out on the glass. A one-off event badge, such as a memorial tournament logo, can be used instead of the charity's.
Wording for memorial and annual events
Many charity tournaments are held in memory of someone, and families often keep the trophy for years. A layout with THE JAMES WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CUP on line 1, Winners on line 2, the team name on line 3 and the year on line 4 reads well. Check the spelling of the name being remembered with the family before you order.
If the event runs every year, keep the wording consistent so the awards form a matching set over time, changing only the year and the winner.

Questions
Can we order charity awards before the tournament and add winners later?
You can order them without winners. Every text line is optional, so print the charity logo, the event name, the award title and the year, and leave out the name. The awards are then ready on the day and can be presented as soon as the final is over.
Do we need permission to use a charity's logo?
It is sensible to ask. Many charities have rules on how their logo is shown and are happy to supply a file for a fundraising event. Getting the official file from them also gives you a better-quality image than one copied from their website.
What awards work for a fun run where nobody is really racing?
Most fun runs recognise effort and fundraising rather than speed. Popular choices are top fundraiser, best fancy dress, biggest team entry and a volunteer thank-you. A large block suits the main fundraising award, with small blocks for the rest.
How long does delivery take?
Made in Cornwall and delivered within 7 days Plan your order around the event date rather than leaving it to the last week, so the awards arrive with time to check them and pack them for the venue.
