Netball Player of the Match Award
A netball player of the match award is often decided by the other side. In many leagues, each team nominates a player from the opposition after the final whistle, which makes the honour a sporting gesture as much as a prize. This page covers printed awards for tournaments and finals, plus how to turn a season of match nominations into an end-of-season award.

Netball end of season awards: how player of the match works in netball
After a league match, captains in many leagues each choose a player from the opposing team, sometimes with input from the umpires. It is usually announced as the teams shake hands, and some leagues record it on the score sheet.
Because opponents are watching your players closely for a full four quarters, their choice tends to be well judged. A goal keeper who kept their best shooter quiet, or a centre who controlled the game, is often recognised this way.
In junior netball, coaches or umpires often make the choice instead, and some junior leagues give a player of the match to each team so both sides go home with someone recognised.
Tournaments and finals
Summer tournaments, junior festivals and cup finals are where a printed player of the match award really fits. Tournament organisers often need several, one per final or one per age group, which makes the minimum order of five easy to reach.
Every line is optional, so you can print the logo, PLAYER OF THE MATCH and the event name, such as Summer Tournament U13 Final, with the name line left blank. The award is ready to hand over on the day, though nothing can be added to the glass afterwards.
Organisers running several courts may want one per court final.
A season-long version
Some clubs count how many player of the match nominations each player received and present an award at the end of the season. It rewards consistency, and because the votes came from opponents it is hard to dispute.
For this version use MOST PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARDS or PLAYER OF THE MATCH on line one, the club name on line two, the winner's name on line three and the team and season, such as Div 2 2025/26, on line four.
Keep a simple log through the year so nobody has to rely on memory in April.
Choosing sizes and ordering
Small square awards at £8.99 each suit match and tournament awards. If player of the match is one of the main end-of-season honours, the Large portrait block at £13.99 gives it more presence.
Design the first award, then add each final or winner with the same logo, or paste a list. If you are running a tournament, the logo can be the event's own rather than a club crest. Delivery is a flat £10.00 per order.

Questions
Can we order player of the match awards before a tournament?
Yes. Leave the name line blank and print the event and age group instead, so the awards are ready to present on the day. The text is printed onto the glass, so names cannot be added afterwards.
Can we use a tournament logo instead of our club badge?
Yes, the top of the award carries whichever logo you upload, so a tournament or league logo works well, as long as you have permission to use it. A transparent PNG gives the cleanest result.
Can different finals have different wording in one order?
Yes. Designs can be mixed freely, so each final or age group can have its own line four, such as U11 Final or Open Final, while sharing the same logo, which you only upload once.
How long will the awards take to arrive?
Made in Cornwall and delivered within 7 days For a tournament, order as soon as the age groups and finals are confirmed so the awards arrive in good time. Delivery is a flat £10.00 per order.
