Netball Players' Player Award
The netball players' player award is voted for by the team, which is exactly why players value it. On court, seven players depend on each other in a way few sports demand: a wing defence who blocks every pass into the circle never appears on the scoresheet. This page looks at how netball teams run the vote, how the award differs from the coaches' choice and how to word it.

Netball end of season awards: who teammates tend to pick
Shooters get the goals and the attention, but the players' vote often goes somewhere else. Centres and wing defences cover the most court, and their teammates see every intercept and every pass that kept a move alive.
Teammates also notice things a coach watching from the bench might miss, like who calls the play, who stays positive at half-time when the team is behind, and who turns up to training on a dark Tuesday in February. That is what gives this award its meaning.
Running the vote
Keep it simple and private. Paper slips handed to the team captain at the last training session work well, or a direct message to the team manager rather than a group chat poll, where everyone can see who voted for whom.
Agree the rules beforehand. Most teams do not allow self-votes, and some ask for first and second choices with points attached to avoid ties. If a player has only played a handful of games, the team may decide whether they can vote.
Wording on the award
PLAYERS' PLAYER sits neatly on line one, with the apostrophe after the s because the award comes from all the players. Line two is the club name, line three the winner's name and line four the team and season, for example Div 3 2025/26.
If your club runs several teams with similar names, use the name players actually say, such as Seniors 2 or U16 Blue. That keeps each award clear when the club looks back at past winners.
Keep the number of votes in the speech rather than on the glass, which keeps the award simple and the margin private. The design view lets you check the four lines sit comfortably before you order.
Alongside the coaches' award
Many netball clubs present the players' player and the coaches' award one after the other, as the two views of the same season. It is fine if they go to the same person, but it is more common for them to differ, and both are worth the same recognition.
Order them in the same size, usually the Small square block at £8.99, or use Large at £13.99 for both if they are the headline team awards. Add every team's winner using the same logo in one order to keep delivery at the flat £10.00.

Questions
Can players vote for themselves in a players' player award?
That is your club's call, but most teams say no. Asking each player for a first and second choice, with two points and one point, makes ties less likely and gives a clearer result.
Is it players' player or player's player?
Players' player, with the apostrophe after the s, as the award is chosen by all the players on the team. That is the spelling in our quick-fill title list, and you can edit line one if your club uses something different.
Can we order the same award for six different teams?
Yes. Design the first award with your logo, then add each team's winner using the same logo, changing the name and team line each time. You can also paste a list of names if you have them ready.
What is the minimum order?
The minimum order is five awards, in any mix of Small at £8.99 and Large at £13.99. Delivery is a flat £10.00 per order, and payment is by card at checkout.
